The good news is he's been found. He's pretty
beat up though. He was found after being out
there for almost ten days.
His little body is broken about the bones near
his back. There is no spinal damage though.
Right now Pen gets around with his front legs
while dragging his back legs.
Someone found him curled up on their welcome
mat at their front door and called Pen's Mommy
and Daddy. I would say that someone hurt the
little guy when he walked up to them to be friends.
Pen loves people and is so trusting.
I was in Los Angeles during all of this. I got back
home yesterday after the doctors visit. My job was
to get a duck from hunter Dave next door. The Vet
wanted Pen to have fatty duck soup broth.
So this is where little Pen stands for the moment.
I'll keep you posted and maybe we can get Pen to
write about his ordeal.

Get better soon pen.
ReplyDeleteThanks uncle Madhat.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I haven't been on the blogs much, so I am just reading this.
ReplyDeletePoor dear little Pending. I'm happy he was found, it's a miracle.
I will pray for his speedy recovery, please get well soon, Pen. Grampa will take care of you
with nice, homemade duck soup. And tell him to get the marx bros. video of the same name to make you smile.
Aunt Bunni, is that called "Quackers"? I'm getting around a little better now. I walk with my back flat instead of being raised like a ferret. It appears two of my vertebrae are dislocated. I'm going to visit a surgeon to see if anything can be done.
ReplyDeleteIf something can be done, Gramma and Grampa said it will be Mommy and Daddy's birthday presents for awhile.
Grampa, I'm typing OK now, huh? Yup Pen,
Hope you are feeling better, Pen. You are so lucky to have such a nice and generous Grampa & Gramma, I know they will do everything to help you.
ReplyDeleteAunt Bunni, what's the fuss? Everyone is acting as if I'm hurt or something.
ReplyDeleteOh my...I'm so sorry that I have not checked in on Pen for a while. I am heatbroken>>> All my prayers go out to y'all. I can only say that I lost a dachshund years ago. He lost the use of his hind quarters as well. I still have my kitteh, old as he is, though I must keep him at another house. I can't have pets in my new apt. I miss him dearly, though I see him every day. Be back soon!
ReplyDeleteUncle Scott, I'm getting around pretty good now. I walk but my back isn't raised like a ferrets back usually is.
ReplyDeletePen, how are you fairing?
ReplyDeleteUncle Madhat, Thanks for asking ... look above.
